Orenda kids is a thoughtfully created mindfulness program designed to support young & active minds!
The Mindful Movement Program supports each individual child’s overall wellbeing in a fun, creative and nurturing environment, allowing children to learn mindfulness through play, nature, passions, creativity and fun hands on experiences.
Orenda Kids was developed to hold a space for children to learn the importance of mindfulness and how to bring this practice into their daily lives.
As an early childcare educator, experienced energy healer and meditation teacher, I was so drawn in creating a nurturing space for kids to feel safe in expressing their true authentic selves.
With groups of only 4-5 kids per session children will have the space to feel comfortable and not overwhelmed with in a large group setting.
Each child will receive their very own person Orenda journal for them to paste all our fun activities in each week. They are welcome to take them home to share with their family and also log some fun mindful meditations they may have completed between sessions! These are great to listen to before bed or before/after doing homework. Even a lazy Sunday and get the whole family to follow through them together!
Along with lots of weekly meditations, mindfulness crafts, their very own seedling and pot to watch grow, their Orenda Kids Warrior Certificate on completion and a fun goodie bag with tools to continue support them outside of the Mindful Movement program!
Parents/caregivers & child will receive a welcome pack, weekly email updates & photos of what we have discovered & what’s happening for the following week!
Each week we will discover new tools and mindfulness practices that will help support each child’s over all wellbeing. Understanding that all children are very unique and no child will be pressured into contributing in group discussions unless they wish to share. Here is a safe space for kids to not feel pressured, but to feel supported and encouraged along the way!
Each Session is run as an after school program 1hr a week over a 6-8 week program. All session include a maximum of 4-5 children in related age Groups. We take part in group activities where we learn about worries, problem solving strategies, mindfulness exercise, brainstorming solutions, breathing techniques with our fun breathing buddies and most of all lots of fun games and belly laughs!
Music, dance & yoga is one of my favourite ways to incorporate mindfulness in an easy, fun and carefree way! It is not only a beautiful way for children to be brought completely into the present moment, but is also a great way to reset little nervous systems and calm a busy mind! Here i have sound bowls, gongs, chimes, rain sticks, young drums and of course some bongo drums!
Art is a beautiful way for children to loose themselves and express their creativity. Not all children are drawn to creative art experiences, so I make sure that i design them around each child’s own individual interests!
All children learn, engage and communicate with their environment differently. Here I help each child connect to their own unique gifts, strengths and abilities to further support them in areas where they may be experiencing worry, anxiety and stress. Through fun mindful exercises and activities for the children to learn tools to support them and create mindful warriors!
Children are naturally curious and learn most when interacting with hands on experience! throughout the program we will go exploring in the nature reserve, plant there very own seeds to take home and care for, feed our friendly children‘s and learn how to ground their energy through fun mindfulness exercises.
